End the War on Cannabis in 2016 Peter Dunne

How mad is it that the president of the New Zealand Police Association can walk around a cannabis store in America and inspect legal marijuana asking questions about the business and then joke with the guys in the store about not coming to New Zealand because marijuana is not legal there YET? The war on drugs is a disaster and crime against humanity.

Peter has replied already:

New Zealand Men Have a Thug Mindset Problem, Not an Alcohol Induced Violence Problem

Male macho culture in New Zealand is a sad parody of itself. The whole "I gotta be staunch as fuck and intimidating" bullshit that 96% of male buffoons in this country subscribe too is disturbing and depressing to watch. Many NZ men look like a bunch of wild apes waddling around with watermelons under their tattooed armpits while grunting and baring their teeth at each other. It is especially evident in the city on a Friday or Saturday night when they are prowling around drunk trying to impress or force themselves upon women.

An anthropologist says Kiwis and Aussies who blame booze for their violence should instead point the finger at our macho culture.

E-cigarette rule hurting NZ's poorest

The problem the government faces over E-cigarette nicotine liquid regulation is essentially a money over people problem. If the government eased regulation of nicotine E-liquid then the floodgates are open for smokers to quit their massively expensive tobacco addiction that reaps the government massive tax revenue and manage their addiction in an affordable way that many believe is a healthier option than smoking. This is financially good for the smokers but a threat to the governments financial books. This is especially a problem for the current John Key lead National government that has presided over 8 years of budget deficits and record debt and an economy that has been artificially propped up by natural disaster and an increasingly unstable dairying industry. National is all about profit over people. It will be interesting to see what happens here.

From Radio NZ: Some tobacco researchers are urging the removal of restrictions on purchasing e-cigarettes containing nicotine.

Australia: Shocking! Adults Now Fall Under No Jab, No Pay Vaccine Law

Legislators have just done what many in the alternative media have been predicting would happen for some time. That’s right, children and now adult vaccinations in order to receive family tax benefits and payments.

The new No Jab, No Pay laws (Social Services Legislation Amendment) have passed and will commence as of January 2016. This law was originally promoted and put in place to cease financial benefits to parents of children up to and including age 7 of whom weren’t complying with the immunization schedule set out by the Australian Government. Even the mainstream media pundits were reporting this fact. TV shows, news, newspaper, radio… all bases were covered.

Silicon Valley professionals are taking LSD at work to increase productivity

It seems unlikely, but that’s apparently what some Silicon Valley professionals have been doing - and reporting great results.

According to Rolling Stone, a growing number of people are experimenting with "microdoses" of psychedelics to help them work. A microdose of LSD is around 10-15 micrograms, approximately a tenth of a “normal” dose.

Cannabis for Parkinson's? The Scientific Evidence Is Compelling

Could the very plant that for decades was accused of "frying" users' brains be far superior to pharmaceuticals in treating the "incurable" neurodegenerative condition known as Parkinson's disease?

Despite the political controversy surrounding medical marijuana use in the country, research has begun to emerge showing that a component of this plant known as cannabidiol (CBD), and which does not have the controversial psychoactive properties associated with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), may have a wide range of therapeutic applications, including treating conditions that are refractory to conventional drug-based approaches.

TPP Text Reveals Broad New Powers to Attack Food Safety, Food Labeling Laws

Today, the Obama administration released the long-secret text of the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal that would weaken consumer protections, undermine U.S. food safety standards and prevent commonsense food labeling. The language included in the TPP is more aggressive than previous trade deals and provides broad new powers for other countries and foreign corporations to challenge U.S. food safety and food labeling measures.

“The TPP will increase the volume of imported and potentially risky foods coming into the United States, but tie the hands of the border inspectors who are the last line of defense between the shipper and the supermarket,” said Hauter. “The TPP gives companies new powers to second guess inspectors and push uninspected food onto the market.”

Australia to Americanise it's Healthcare System?

The Aussie govt lead by former Goldman Sachs chairman Malcolm Turnbull is talking about reforming Australia's public health system to be more like Americas health system. Americas health system is a disaster for the public's health with people often facing bankruptcy due to enormous medical bills. Private insurers often refuse to pay out on medical costs leaving sick people to die because they have no way of paying for life saving treatment.

The American health system is a monumental failure. If a country wants to cut healthcare costs then they should stop allowing foods to be dowsed in toxic chemicals, rein in the sugar cartels and clamp down on deadly addictive drugs like alcohol.

Ireland to 'decriminalise' small amounts of drugs, including heroin, cocaine and cannabis, for personal use

Ireland will move towards decriminalising substances including heroin, cocaine and cannabis as part of a “radical cultural shift”, the country's drugs minister has said.

Aodhán Ó Ríordáin, the chief of Ireland’s National Drugs Strategy, told a lecture at the London School of Economics on Monday that drug users will be able to inject in specially designated rooms in Dublin from next year.
