World Jewry ever more uneasy with Israel, major study finds

World Jewry is finding it increasingly difficult to support Israel due to its ongoing conflict with the Palestinians, leading many communities to shun discussing the Jewish state altogether, a new major study has found. The trend is eroding the Diaspora’s support for the Jewish state, warns the report by the Jewish People Policy Institute think tank, to be formally published next week.

While most Jews sympathize with Israel’s needs to wage war in self-defense and believe that its army acts according to high moral standards, there is growing discomfort with some Israeli policies they believe unnecessarily perpetuate conflict, according to the 100-page report by the JPPI, which was made available to The Times of Israel.

Foreign investment in Israel plummets by half since Gaza massacre

Foreign investment in Israel plummeted almost 50 percent in 2014, a fact attributed to last summer’s assault on Gaza and the growing impact of boycotts.

This week the UN’s trade and development agency UNCTAD released its annual World Investment Report on foreign direct investment (FDI) – a measure of money that investors from overseas put into a country to invest in businesses, build factories or start other economic projects.

According to the report, FDI into Israel in 2014 plummeted to just $6.4 billion from almost $12 billion in 2013.

Trans-Pacific Bill Includes Anti Boycott Israel Amendment

Today’s passing of the Trans-Pacific Partnership bill included a quiet but meaningful amendment targeting the boycott Israel movement.

The measure passed by the United States Congress on Wednesday includes an amendment requiring American negotiators to stipulate the rejection of boycotting Israeli products as a core principle in any trade talks that might occur with the European Union.

The trade bill—whose amendment takes a stand against the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement—initially passed with a majority in the House of Representatives last week, followed by Wednesday’s affirmative 60-38 vote in the Senate.

Monsanto Supplied US and Israel With Chemical Weapons According to Declassified Documents

Recently declassified documents reveal that Monsanto has provided both the Israeli and US militaries with white phosphorus as early as 2009. White phosphorus is a chemical weapon, which burns through nearly any surface and creates large clouds of toxic smoke.

Exposure to this chemical can be potentially fatal or debilitating, but sadly it is not recognized legally as a chemical weapon, and thus is perfectly legal for Western governments to use against the inhabitants of poor developing countries.

Examples of Israeli Viciousness

Israel treats Palestinians the way Hitler persecuted Jews. Every day is Kristallnacht for long-suffering people under apartheid conditions worse than South Africa's.

Israeli democracy is pure fiction. Palestinians are viciously persecuted for the crime of not being Jewish - including mass murder and destruction whenever racist lunatics in charge wish.

Yet they enjoy virtual 100% congressional and administration support no matter which party holds executive power.

One rogue state supports another - each in lockstep with the other's worst crimes, an endless cycle of unaccountable atrocities and other abuses.

Israeli Deputy Defence Minister: "A Jew always has a much higher soul than a gentile, even if he is a homosexual."; "For me [Palestinians] are like animals, they are not human."

Eliyahu Michael "Eli" Ben-Dahan (Hebrew: אלי בן דהן‎, born 11 February 1954) is an Israeli rabbi and politician.

He was Deputy Minister of Religious Services from 2013 to 2015. He currently serves as a member of the Knesset for the Jewish Home and is the Deputy Minister of Defense. Ben-Dahan has stirred controversy with some of his statements, which were cited after his appointment to administer the IDF's civil administration in the West Bank, with jurisdiction over Palestinians resident there:

"For me [Palestinians] are like animals, they are not human." "A Jew always has a much higher soul than a gentile, even if he is a homosexual."

In Israel, racism is standard procedure

“Identification cards, please,” said the woman at the entrance. I had a sinking feeling in my stomach as soon as I heard the words. I passed the woman my card. She looked over it without a second thought and my female friend was given the same treatment. We were quickly waved through to enter the party. As soon as she saw our male friend’s ID, she clucked and shook her head slightly. I knew exactly what had happened; she saw his city of residence and his name, both of which are distinctly Arab. She raised her hand in a “Stop” gesture and the security guards made sure that the three Arab men in our group stayed on the other side of the barrier, as the harsh May sun beat down from above.

US press blacks out Israeli defense minister’s citation of ‘Nagasaki and Hiroshima’ as model for dealing with Iran

This is a story about the media blackout of important information about Israel: that their leaders are seriously misguided.

Two weeks ago, Electronic Intifada reported public comments by Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon in which he cited Hiroshima and Nagasaki as role models in responding to Iran. Ya’alon suggested that Israel might have to nuke Iran in order to prevent a long war: “at the end, we might take certain steps.”

Israel’s new justice minister considers all Palestinians to be ‘the enemy’

An 11th-hour deal on Wednesday led to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu forming the most right-wing government in his country's history. Netanyahu's slim majority in the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, was secured after a pact with the Jewish Home party, led by Naftali Bennett, an ultra-nationalist who draws much of his support from Israel's settler population and rejects a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
