WAR ON DRUGS

If John Keys Lips are Moving he is Lying

John Key on government law making regarding cannabis: "We work on an evidence and science-based approach and ... if someone wants to bring up a particular case for use to the minister's office in good faith he will look at it."

Bullshit John. You and your corrupt minions make your decisions based on how much money you and your corporate/and or bankster criminal buddies can funnel out of the hands of the ordinary man and into the hands of the wealthy. Not what is best for the public interest.

You do not give a shit about about sick and dying people. There is a plethora of studies showing huge promise with medicinal cannabis. You and your ministers like that corrupt clown Peter Dunne are wilfully ignoring the science that is out there. You are liars.

Why a Man Who Fought the Drug War for 30 Years Is Now Spearheading Project to Stop It

When it comes to the War on Drugs, there are few people in a better position to comment on the futility, brutality and tragedy of the endeavor than retired Major Neill Franklin. He spent over 30 years participating in, and directing, state and local police anti-drug efforts before retiring to become the executive director of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP), which advocates for the legalization of drugs and a law enforcement approach that defends human rights and views drug misusers as persons in need of treatment as opposed to punishment.

The war on drugs is long lost, so why are we still fighting?

Most wars end. One of the longest in history, the Hundred Years War, finally ended in 1453. However, a war that has been fought internationally for nearly as long, the "war on drugs", continues almost unabated, causing havoc and misery for many people in our community.

Winston Churchill once said: "However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results." Rarely do we look closely at the effectiveness of drug prohibition and the war on drugs.

CTU president 'used cannabis' for cancer pain

The President of the Council of Trade Unions, Helen Kelly, has admitted using cannabis to help cope with the side effects of lung cancer.

She told the TV3 programme The Nation that she had used the drug to help with pain relief, but that she didn't like having to access it illegally.

Ms Kelly is planning to write to Associate Health Minister Peter Dunne to ask for permission to use cannabis legally.

Finding cannabinoids in hair does not prove cannabis consumption

In the light of the serious consequences of positive test results the mechanisms of drug incorporation into hair urgently need scientific evaluation. Here we show that neither THC nor THCA-A are incorporated into human hair in relevant amounts after systemic uptake. THC-COOH, which is considered an incontestable proof of THC uptake according to the current scientific doctrine, was found in hair, but was also present in older hair segments, which already grew before the oral THC intake and in sebum/sweat samples. Our studies show that all three cannabinoids can be present in hair of non-consuming individuals because of transfer through cannabis consumers, via their hands, their sebum/sweat, or cannabis smoke.

A Scientist Trippin’ On LSD Discovered DNA… And His Breakthrough Was Not Alone

Without the creative application of psychedelic drugs, it is very possible that the iPod would have never been invented and DNA may have never been discovered.

Francis Crick, the scientist credited with discovering DNA, was taking psychedelic drugs when he made his groundbreaking revelation.

The London-based periodical Mail on Sunday reported that after Crick’s death in 2004, “The abrasive and unorthodox Crick and his brilliant American co-researcher James Watson famously celebrated their eureka moment in March 1953 by running from the now legendary Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge to the nearby Eagle pub, where they announced over pints of bitter that they had discovered the secret of life.

Cannabis Oil Dissolves Large Inoperable Cancerous Tumor In 8 Month Old Baby

Many people with cancer these days are exploring alternative treatments. It’s definitely important to keep up with research and to be aware of what is happening in the world of traditional and alternative medicine.

As I mention in all of my cannabis articles (for those who don’t know), cannabinoids refer to any group of related compounds called endocannabinoids and they play an important role in many processes within the human body that help to create a healthy environment.

Cannabis has been proven to reduce cancer cells for a long time now, as it has a great impact on the rebuilding of the immune system. This doesn’t include smoking it. Success is usually achieved by creating oil from the plant or eating the plant.

Using Psychedelics Shouldn't Be a Crime

Psychedelic substances have been used around the world for thousands of years for religious and therapeutic purposes. In the 1950s and 1960s, psychedelics were considered promising treatments for a broad range of psychological conditions, and for otherwise-healthy people seeking to improve their creativity or well-being. Tens of thousands of people were introduced to them in clinical studies, as an adjunct to psychotherapy, or as part of a religious or spiritual practice.

First of its Kind Study Finds Virtually No Driving Impairment Under the Influence of Marijuana

As cannabis prohibition laws crumble seemingly by the day, it’s allowing more research to be performed on this psychoactive substance that has long been a part of the human experience.

The first study to analyze the effects of cannabis on driving performance found that it caused almost no impairment. The impairment that it did cause was similar to that observed under the influence of a legal alcohol limit.

Researchers at the University of Iowa’s National Advanced Driving Simulator carried out the study, sponsored by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, National Institute of Drug Abuse, and the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Anti-Marijuana Politician Charged With Possession of Marijuana

A New York State Republican assemblyman who opposed medical marijuana legislation at every turn was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. The police found the marijuana after they pulled him over for speeding.

A statement released shortly after the March 2013 incident, law enforcement officials reported that state police discovered Steve Katz had a “small bag” of marijuana on him.

A New York State Trooper said that the 59-year-old assemblyman had been driving 80 miles per hour in 65 mph zone. He noticed the marijuana and took Katz into custody, charging him with possession before he was finally bailed out.

Katz had voted against the legalization of medical marijuana back in June.
