Researchers at Queensland University of Technology say using robots to attack weeds are less than three years away

FARMERS will soon be able to employ robots to attack one of their most costly problems — weeds.

Robots are being developed particularly to tackle the rising problem of glyphosate resistance.

Researchers at Queensland University of Technology say the technology is less than three years away from hitting commercial farms. Professor of electrical engineering and com­puter science Tristan Perez said the robots could lead to a significant change in how weeds were managed.
